Peter Luu is a successful luxury real estate agent based in Lake Nona, Florida. He leads the Peter Luu Signature Group, Premier Luxury, EXP Realty. Peter and the group achieved $74.1M in sales in 2022 and ranked him #16 out of 20,000 agents in Central Florida. His secret ingredient: commitment to excellence.

The Roots

Peter Luu was born in a Malaysian refugee camp in 1979 after his parents fled Vietnam after the War. “The soldiers found out my mom was pregnant with me, so they didn’t allow my parents to come to America until I was born,” says Peter.

They flew into Oakland, California and moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. “My dad worked two jobs and went to college. We were on welfare. At that time I didn’t realize we lived in the ghetto. We moved to Society Hills, New Jersey and later on RCA transferred my dad to Melbourne, Florida. We lived in Palm Bay while they finished building the house in Melbourne.”

Luu finished high school, received his liberal arts education from Brevard Community College, now Eastern Community College, and finally graduated from University of Florida with a Bachelors in Business Administration and a minor in Mass Communications.

The Quest

After graduating, Peter Luu returned to Melbourne. “It was right after September 11 and no one was hiring.” He applied to Walgreens for an assistant manager position and fared well off. “The only thing I didn’t like were the night shifts, the holidays and working weekends.”

He stayed for two years until he felt he needed something else, something more challenging. So he applied for a sales position selling microchips. Not only did he enjoy this new position a lot more, he stayed for ten years and became the #1 sales man breaking records for the company. “Only recently a friend of mine broke the record… I can’t believe he broke it. It almost makes me want to go back… I’m just a competitive guy.”

But Peter wouldn’t go back for nothing: “I’m so blessed today.”

Real. Estate. Go.

During his time selling microchips, Peter met Kaylin through a friend in common. “We were on our way to Ocala for a camping trip and my friend Jason tells me ‘hOh, by the way, we’re gonna camp with the Bible study group.’ I couldn’t jump out of the car.”

When they arrived at the camping ground, Kaylin helped Peter out and included him in the activities.

They continued going out and studying the Bible. “Kaylin taught me about the unconditional love of Jesus, and it freed me from my previous life of sin.”

Peter and Kaylin got married but Kaylin’s career brought her to Nemour’s Chilren Hospital in Lake Nona. She was going to commute from Melbourne, but Peter felt a sign from God after finding out there was a company he almost applied to stationed in Lake Nona. He took it as a sign from God telling him to move to Lake Nona.

When they moved, Peter Luu had quit his job and felt somewhat lost. Yet he had always liked real estate but had never taken the leap. Until Kaylin came home with a Groupon for two real estate licenses and their life turned a corner for the better in 2016.

Peter began his real estate career at Keller Williams where he learned the path to success from Gerry Keller’s book “The One Thing.” He went on to work with Sotheby’s and in 2022 he founded the EXP Luxury division alongside Verónica Figueroa, his mentor.

Peter also attributes his grit to Lou Holtz, former Notre Dame Head Coach.

Peter’s success is not just due to his business acumen, but also to his focus on providing the best possible customer service experience for his clients as well as building relationships.

He also has a deep understanding of the luxury market. In fact, he has listed and sold the most homes in Orlando and Lake Nona since creating his team in 2016, and has been personally ranked in the top 25 agents in Orlando out of 24,000+ agents in 2021 and 2022.

His current goal is to achieve $1 Billion in sales in 2023.
